IT'S COLORED! Wow, I'm not sure how I managed to do that... Just got in one of those moods, and what do you know, here it is. I'm still getting the hang of this whole "digital coloring" thing. Actually, I don't think I ever got the hang of normal coloring...
Yes, so um... This is Ala-chan again, original character of mine. Star of one of the novels I'm writing. I have (too many) other stories and characters, but lately I've been in the mood to draw her. She's really special to me, I guess. Oh, and just so you know, the hilt of her sword is supposed to be clear, so it's kind of hard to see against the background.
If you're interested, here's the official synopsis of her story:
Prototype2
"Alantra has a pretty messed up life. Every now and then, she blacks out and enters the strange and bizarre world of her subconscious where there are no other people, no other creatures, just her, in the ruins of a city. But when her parents send her to a new state-of-the-art mental hospital, her other world changes as well. Deep in a forest near the outskirts of the city ruins, she meets the mysterious (and equally annoying) boy Ishi-kun. Following him, she soon meets more people of this odd world, and is drawn deeper into the mystery surrounding its demise. That is, when she’s not busy experiencing the wacky everyday life of living in a mental institution."
"But it doesn’t stay all fun and games for long. Whether she likes it or not, the world filled with adventures with Ishi-kun is only an illusion. The more she strays from the real world, the harder it will be to come back. And when she’s hailed as The White Phoenix who will save them all by the townspeople, that might be a pretty hard choice."
EDIT: Added some text to it. I ment to from the beginning, but then I forgot. X_X And the new submission thing wouldn't let me change it at first.
Alantra and Prototype2 belong to , so NO STEALING!
I still don't know how to do much in Photoshop. This is actually the first digitally colored pic I really like. What I learned from this piece was that the more layers, the better, and the blur tool is your friend.
Although all the layers made my computer reeeeealy slow.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
